UN Chief’s Rafah Border Crossing Visit: Showing Solidarity and Soaking Up Ramadan Vibes!

Встречи с палестинскими семьями
Рано утром в субботу глава ООН встретился с палестинскими гражданскими лицами и их родными в больнице в Эль-Арише, Египет. После беседы с ними глава ООН заявил, что его глубоко тронули истории этих людей, которым пришлось пройти через такие испытания.
После больницы Генсек направился на КПП Рафах – пограничный переход, через который в Газу ввозят гуманитарную помощь. Выступая там перед журналистами, Гутерриш напомнил, что священный месяц Рамадан символизирует идеи сострадания, единства и мира.

По словам Генсека, «чудовищно, что после стольких месяцев страданий палестинцы в Газе отмечают Рамадан на фоне израильских обстрелов», а попытки доставить гуманитарную помощь наталкиваются на множество препятствий.

«Постясь вместе с вами в Рамадан, я глубоко обеспокоен тем, что так много людей в Газе не имеют всего необходимого для ифтара (разговение после поста – прим.редакции)», – заявил Генеральный секретарь.
В пятницу, напомним, Совет Безопасности в очередной раз не смог принять резолюцию, призывавшую к режиму прекращения огня в Газе.
Задержки с разрешением на доставку помощи – это «безнравственно»
«Находясь здесь, на этом переходе, мы можем видеть всю трагичность и бесчеловечность происходящего», – сказал он, указывая на длинную вереницу грузовиков с гуманитарной помощью, ожидающих разрешения на проезд в Газу в то время, как дети в анклаве умирают от голода.
«Это более чем трагично, это – безнравственно», – сказал он, добавив, что «любое дальнейшее наступление [в Газе] только усугубит ситуацию» для палестинских мирных жителей, израильских заложников и всех жителей региона.
Освободить заложников
По словам Генсека, разворачивающаяся на глазах у всего мира трагедия свидетельствует о том, что необходимо прекратить огонь в Газе, обеспечить беспрепятственную доставку помощи в анклав и освободить – в духе Рамадана – всех заложников, захваченных ХАМАС и другими вооруженными группировками при нападении на Израиль 7 октября 2023 года.
