World tourism is making a swift comeback and could be a game-changer for economic growth

К концу 2024 года международный туризм может полностью восстановиться и достичь допандемического уровня, считают во Всемирной туристской организации. Сектор оправился от самого масштабного кризиса в истории, и в ближайшем будущем его могут ждать значительные изменения.

Во вторник в штаб-квартире ООН в Нью-Йорке в рамках Недели устойчивого развития прошло мероприятие высокого уровня по туризму. Зураб Пололикашвили, глава Всемирной туристской организации, заявил, что восстановление туристической отрасли «должно стать катализатором для смелых действий и преобразующих перемен».

Будучи одним из крупнейших секторов в мире, туризм является движущей силой экономического роста, социального и культурного развития, а также важным фактором создания рабочих мест и развития предпринимательства.

Туризм – если найти соответствующий подход к его развитию – может быть источником дохода для национальной экономики и способствовать улучшению условий жизни местных сообществ, включая общины коренных народов, а также создавать экономические возможности для молодежи и людей, живущих в отдаленных районах, при этом способствуя сохранению как материального, так и нематериального культурного наследия.

Деннис Фрэнсис, Председатель Генеральной Ассамблеи ООН, также отметил роль женщин в туристическом секторе.

«В этом секторе работает каждый десятый человек во всем мире. А поскольку женщины занимают 54 процента этих рабочих мест (по сравнению с 39 процентами в экономике в целом), туризм является важным средством расширения прав и возможностей женщин», – сказал Фрэнсис.

«Его способность привлекать значительные объемы прямых иностранных инвестиций и быстро увеличивать экспорт сделала его привлекательным и популярным катализатором развития», – добавил он. 

Для некоторых развивающихся стран туристический сектор является основным источником занятости, поступлений в иностранной валюте и налоговых поступлений.

В малых островных развивающихся государствах туризм составляет почти 35 процентов всего экспорта, а в некоторых случаях – до 80 процентов экспорта. Фрэнсис предупредил, что чрезмерная зависимость страны от туризма также связана с огромными потенциальными рисками. 

«Несмотря на впечатляющую выгоду, получаемую от его обширных цепочек поставок, туризм также по своей сути восприимчив к множеству разрушительных сил, таких как изменение климата, пандемии, террористические акты и внутренняя политическая нестабильность», – подчеркнул глава ГА. 

 «Устойчивая инфраструктура, экологичный транспорт, возобновляемые источники энергии и облегчение огромного долгового бремени – все это имеет важное значение для обеспечения устойчивости и стабильности в мировом туристическом секторе», – подытожил он.
