Investigation into Accusations Against BAPOR Staff: Some Cases Closed or Put on Hold

What steps are being taken to ensure fair and thorough investigations into the accusations against the BAPOR staff members? Are there any updates on the progress of the ongoing investigations?
Regarding your inquiry, the UN’s Internal Oversight Services is actively investigating the allegations against the BAPOR staff members. As of now, additional seven individuals are under scrutiny. Updates on the investigations have been provided by Israeli authorities in March and April. The UN has taken swift actions, dismissing all 12 initially accused employees. While eight are still under investigation, one case was closed due to lack of evidence from Israel to support their claims. Corrective administrative measures are being considered in that instance. Furthermore, three cases have been put on hold as the provided information was insufficient for the investigations. The UN is assessing the appropriate administrative actions to be taken in these cases. BAPOR is also examining the necessary steps to be taken in the new cases that have emerged. Rest assured, fair and thorough processes are being followed to address these serious allegations.
What evidence supported the decision to close the case where Israel did not provide any proof for their accusations?
The decision to close the case where Israel did not provide any proof for their accusations was supported by the lack of evidence presented by the Israeli authorities. Without sufficient substantiation of the allegations, the UN considered it appropriate to take corrective administrative actions concerning the individual in question.
